Attraction The river Sous flows into the Atlantic just south of Agadir, one of the main tourist centres in Morocco. The mouth of the river is very wide with mud and sandbanks. This is an important resting place for numerous waders, gulls and terns.

Getting There The Site can be reached by taking the main road south-east from town. Just before Inezgane, near the airport, several roads on the right-hand side lead south to a track that runs along the northern bank of the wadi towards the mouth. Drive in the direction of the Royal Palace.

Another option is walking south along the beach. It's about an hours walk.

Strategy The migration periods, from February to April and September to November, are the best times to visit, but winter can also be interesting. Summer is probably the least interesting year.

Visit teh site in the early morning, when there are fewer poeple and less disturbance. Remember to lock cars when leaving them.

Most of the smaal European waders can be seen here, and other species including Cormorant, Little Egret, White Stork, Spoonbill, Greater Flamingo, Blacked winged Stilt. Bald Ibis are frequently seen in Winter.
